About the Opportunities
Due to continued growth, Berg Engineering are now looking for an experienced Onsite Field Machinist and a Field Machinist - Leading Hand to join their team. These are full-time roles that would require extensive travel to sites across Australia, with FIFO options negotiable. When not onsite you will ideally be based from the Gladstone workshop, though this is negotiable based on your level of experience.
As an Onsite Field Machinist, you would be responsible for performing a range of maintenance, fitting, and machining tasks across a wide range of mine sites.
As the Field Machinist - Leading Hand, you would share responsibility for the supervision and development of the Onsite Team, ensuring line boring and machining activities are carried out with a high degree of safety, accuracy and professionalism, as well as performing a range of hands-on maintenance, fitting, and machining tasks.
About You
To be considered, you will need a mechanical trade background and at least 5 years experience in field machining or line boring with large mining or mobile equipment.

Ideally, you will be a lateral thinker who has a knack for "thinking outside the box" and motivating others to do the same. You will be able to see several ways to overcome a challenge and work through a logical thought process to decide on the best path forward.

For the Leading Hand role, you will need to be a strong leader with a solid history of managing and inspiring a team to ensure work is high quality, and delivered in full on time.
