About the Role

Berg Engineering now has an exciting opportunity for a Welding Supervisor to join their team in Gladstone, QLD on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this position is primarily responsible for the supervision, mentoring and training of the welding team, currently comprised of up to 10 employees and with a view to grow this up to 20.

You will also be in charge of all aspects of welding quality control and collaborating with the Machining Supervisor and Fitting Supervisor to achieve efficient workflow in the workshop.

You will be expected to work approximately 45 hours per week between Monday - Friday with some weekend work if required.

Who are we looking for?

To be considered for this role, you must be a qualified and experienced tradesperson, with a minimum of a Certificate III in Fabrication/Welding and hold a qualification AS 1796 Certificate 10 or International Welding Specialist (IWS).

You must place a strong emphasis on safety, hold knowledge of relevant safety standards and requirements, and be able to promote a safe working environment for your team.

You will need to be proficient in GMAW, FCAW and GTAW processes. A high level of computer literacy will also be required for reporting and communication purposes.

You should have demonstrable leadership experience and strong communication skills that allow you to interact effectively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the business. You must be well organised and have the ability to manage your workload, as well as that of your team.
