About the Opportunity
Berg Engineering now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Mechanical Estimator to join their team in Gladstone, QLD.
Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, you will be working within the Engineering and Internal Sales departments to stabilise and fine-tune processes in support of business development activities. You will also be accurately estimating the manufacturing and refurbishment of pumps, valves and gearbox overhauls along with other mining assets, and driving business outcomes such as time delivery and business profitability.
Some of your day-to-day tasks will include (but are not limited to):
- Preparing estimates and proposals for Berg Engineering, in a professional, accurate and timely manner;
- Raising specialised job cards and ensure drawings are available to achieve production targets; and
- Liaising with customers and a range of stakeholders.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant trade qualification and five years' post-trade experience. You will also have demonstrated knowledge around mechanical refurbishment and the proven ability to understand and interpret complex mechanical manufacturing drawings and standards. Although not essential, previous AutoCAD experience is highly advantageous.
Berg Engineering is looking for a positive and energetic individual with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and effective project planning and implementation skills. Ideally, you will be a lateral thinker who has a knack for "thinking outside the box" and who is able to see several ways to engineer something.
As you will be required to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, it is essential that you are an avid communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. You will also be a good relationship builder with a strong customer service attitude and a hardworking ethic, with the ability to deal with people across all levels of the organisation.
