About the Opportunity

Berg Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Estimator to join their team in Brisbane, QLD.

Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, you will work within the Engineering and Internal Sales departments to stabilise and fine-tune the processes supporting business development activities. Your role will entail accurate and timely estimating of a variety of components and projects within, but not limited to, the Alumina, Mining, Power and Water Industries you will also be driving business outcomes such as profitability and on time delivery.

Some of your day-to-day tasks will include (but are not limited to):

  • Accurately identifying the labour, material and time requirements and preparing estimates and proposals for Berg Engineering in a professional, accurate and timely manner;
  • Raising specialised job cards and ensuring drawings are available to achieve production targets;
  • Coordinating with the production team to confirm the scope and ensure targets are achieved; and
  • Liaising with customers and a range of stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant trade qualification and significant demonstrated post-trade experience. You will have demonstrated knowledge of the industry and the proven ability to understand and interpret complex mechanical manufacturing drawings and standards. Although not essential, previous AutoCAD experience is highly advantageous. .

The role would suit a trade qualified/CNC machinist looking to take the next step in their career.

Berg Engineering is looking for a positive and energetic individual with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and effective project planning and implementation skills. Ideally, you will be a lateral thinker who has a knack for "thinking outside the box" and who can see several ways to engineer something.

An avid communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, you will engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, combined with a strong work ethic will enable you to interact effectively with people across all levels of the organisation.
